And now, will real Jay Cutler please stand up?Date: 14.07.2007 Posted by: Anabolic Info Team United States
Jay Cutler looks like just another nice, young guy.
Pounding the weights hasn't melted away the little double chin that softens his face and belies his status as the new Denver Broncos’ quarterback savior at the age of 24.
He's billed as "the kid from Santa Claus" in information about the Jay Cutler Foundation, a charitable organization that bears his name in Denver.
Professional sports teams have always encouraged high-profile athletes to be involved in their communities and it's easy to be cynical about how sincere they are. But Cutler, who really was born in Santa Claus, Ind., has passed every test so far as a genuine human being.
Cutler's face is featured on the Broncos’ Web site and his foundation also has a beautiful presentation. It's very glossy and obviously his high-profile role with Denver drives the whole deal.
Then there's the other Jay Cutler, a one-man operation who was born and raised in Massachusetts.
The other Jay is a 33-year-old professional bodybuilder who stands just 5-foot-9 and packs 274 pounds on his frame for competition. He's gloriously tan with sun-streaked hair and a rock-hard, dimpled chin.
He won the Teen Nationals in Raleigh, N.C., as a 19-year-old in 1992 and that was just the start. He has 22-inch arms and 20-inch calves, a 34-inch waist and 19-inch neck.
Cutler's bodybuilding Web site promotes reasonable appearance rates with 10-minute posing routines. He has a video for $40 and if he's paid for an appearance, he's "always in shape."
Cutler the Incredible Hulk got his start working in his brother's concrete business. According to his list of accomplishments, he has competed all over the world, winning the Mr. Olympia title in 2006. He's married to a nurse. They now live in Las Vegas, the land of hype.
His job is bodybuilding. In his autobiography on the Web site, Cutler said he played football in high school but loved the competition of bodybuilding the first time he stepped on a stage wearing just a skimpy bathing suit.
The Broncos’ Jay Cutler, on the other hand, wears a uniform when he competes. He stands 6-3 and weighs 233 pounds. His waist size isn't available.
Although he's only played five games with Denver thus far, Cutler is firmly established as the Broncos’ go-to guy. He completed 81-of-137 passes for 1,001 yards in those five games.
He's agile, he can run and he completed his degree in Human and Organizational Development in 2005. His dad works for the Indiana state police and his mom is a part-time teacher.
Cutler also is sought out for his thoughts and opinions on everything, whether it's the effectiveness of a passing route or the homicide death of a teammate.
The Broncos’ Cutler is a cottage industry connected to every Denver fan in the Rocky Mountain area. The spotlight will be unbearably bright for him at times.
Jay Cutler the bodybuilder has to create his own bright lights. |
