Area couple charged in drug bustDate: 01.02.2007 Posted by: Anabolic Info Team Canada
A Burlington couple, who sell bodybuilding health products, has been accused of shipping anabolic steroids to health clubs in the Maritimes.
They were arrested and charged with trafficking-related offences last week at the conclusion of a drug investigation that started in Fredericton, N.B., in 2005. The probe culminated Jan. 25 when police executed search warrants at seven homes and six businesses in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Burlington.
Seventeen people were taken into custody but were released without charges, except for the Burlington couple. During a search of their upscale townhouse, the RCMP say they found about $10,000 worth of anabolic steroids and the prescription drug oxycodone.
A 31-year-old man was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. His fiancee, 28, is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. They were both released on recognizance and are to appear in Milton court March 6. |
