SINGAPORE : It was a proud return for one of Singapore's golden sons as bodybuilder Simon Chua brings the gold medal home.
Strutting his way to the top of the rostrum, Chua beat stiff competition to capture gold in the 70kg weight category at the Asian Games in Doha.
A warm welcome for Chua as family, friends and fans showed their appreciation and support at Changi Airport.
There was strong support too, for Ibrahim Sihat and Mohd Ismail, who secured bronze medals.
Although the team failed to meet its target of two gold medals, it was still smiles all around.
And celebrations are sure to continue for the next few days as the bodybuilders take some time to relax from their strict diet and training schedules. |
