Butterfield Bank backs Cayman bodybuildingDate: 18.01.2007

Butterfield Bank (Cayman) Limited recently donated funds to help bring the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation (WNBF) ‘Mr. & Mrs. Universe Natural Bodybuilding Championships’ and Natural Caribbean Grand Prix Bodybuilding & Figure Championships to the Cayman Islands on April 28, 2007. This prestigious annual event attracts participants from all over the world. The community–focused event will return a portion of the proceeds to the CI Boy Scouts and CI Cancer Society.
Butterfield Bank’s Monique Bush said, “Having only recently been exposed to this exciting sport, I am thrilled to help bring an international competition to Cayman. Body Building is rapidly gaining popularity throughout the island. I hope that the exposure brought about through this event will encourage new participants in the sport.”
Championships’ promoter Tiger Wilson expressed that he was extremely grateful for the assistance received from Butterfield Bank. "It is great when a company like Butterfield Bank realises the potential in encouraging a drug free sport like natural bodybuilding here in Cayman. Because of the stringent drug testing this is a sport that young people should definitely be encouraged to become involved in and by promoting championships such as the Mr. & Ms. Universe we hope to be able reach out to more of the islands’ youth," said Mr. Wilson.
