Deputies arrest Denver copDate: 04.01.2003 Posted by: Anabolic Info Team United States
A Denver Police officer living in Arapahoe County was arrested Dec. 26 for possession of illegal steroids, Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said.
The man, 36-year-old Thomas Lahey, a sergeant with the Denver Police Department, was arrested at his home after the steroids were delivered there.
The investigation began three days before when postal inspectors doing random package inspections discovered what was believed to be testosterone ampules, an anabolic steroid, inside the package from Great Britain.
The person listed on the delivery address, 21577 E. Otero Place, was Lahey.
Investigators searching the home on a warrant found and seized more suspected steroids, 97 syringes and needles, a steroid use schedule, two computers and 15 firearms.
Lahey has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
Samples of the ampules were sent to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for analysis.
Illegal possession of such steroids is punishable by two to six years in prison.
Lahey was released at the scene pending the outcome of laboratory examinations. |
