Diaz takes first at NPC Figure CompetitionDate: 21.07.2007 Posted by: Anabolic Info Team United States
San Marcos — Jessica Diaz, a local bodybuilder and figure competitor placed first in the NPC Figure Competition in San Antonio recently. The contest was the Prince Fonteno's South Texas Figure and Bodybuilding Classic held June 30.
Jessica has been competing for 2 1/2 years and is making tremendous gains in her competition. At this meet it was especially rewarding as the NPC State chairman and several of the judges talked to her after the competition and mentioned that she has the potential to be a national level figure competitor in the years to come.
Bobby Warren, her trainer and owner of the San Marcos Athletic Club where Jessica trains, said that in all of the years he has trained women competitors to have someone be told by judges that the athlete has national potential after only a couple of years in competition is very unusual.
"It is a comment judges rarely make," Warren said.
Jessica is the mother of two children ages three and five and must arrange her schedule around a very busy day. A typical day starts at 5:15 a.m. with a two-mile run and then she gets to the gym at 7 a.m. for a weight training session. At 8: a.m. she heads to her job and then at noon she gets back to the gym for another quick workout before returning to work. After work she is back in the gym from 5:15 until 6 p.m. when she hurries off to pick up the children from the day care.
Jessica said that it takes some arranging priorities and support from her family. She is especially thankful for the support from her husband, Josh, and the efforts of Bobby Warren and Joe Lucio who help her with her training programs.
Jessica says, "Mothers can be fit even though they have a busy schedule with children.”
Her next competition is in Austin on Aug. 4.
