Duran muscles her way to second

ALBUQUERQUE - A local woman demonstrated what it takes to get recognized at a regional competition for body building.
Wenona Duran, of Grants, placed second in the Organization of Competitive Bodybuilders Natural Southwest Classic Bodybuilding Championships. She competed in the women's novice category last month against the state and surrounding area's best.
The event prides itself in natural hard work to establish a figure, as opposed to using drugs and enhancements to speed up the process or lessen the blow. A polygraph test was administered to each contestant with additional testing for those winning the event. The winners qualified for a pro-event, in which Duran missed by just a few points.
Her family of her girls and husband Marty plan on attending the next New Mexico event in Los Alamos in September.
“The sky is the limit,” said her proud husband. They thanked the effort put in by the T-Bone's Gym staff in assisting her with workouts.
