Ephedra sales banned entirely in Suffolk

The popular herbal stimulant Ephedra will soon no longer be available in Suffolk County. Lawmakers there have completely banned the sale of Ephedra.
The initiative was spearheaded by Leg. Jon Cooper (D - Lloyd Harbor). He helped ban the sale of Ephedra to minors in Suffolk a couple of months ago. Now, with a vote of 12-5, Suffolk County legislators have completely banned sales of the herbal stimulant in the county. Cooper believes Ephedra can cause harmful side effects, including death.
The proposal does not ban the production of Ephedra in Suffolk; it only bans the sale of the supplement. Suffolk County has become the first community in the nation to completely ban the sale of Ephedra.
