Fong takes over as bodybuilding chief

Victory Pose: Winners of the middleweight category in the 34th Malaysian Bodybuilding Championship flexing their muscles in a victory pose in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, with Malaysian Federation of Bodybuilders president Datuk Dr Fong Chan Onn.
Mohayan Rosmani (left) emerged winner, while Mohd Rizaki Hamzah took the second prize. The two beat six others to clinch their positions.
Dr Fong, who is also Human Resource Minister, said the championship was a good opportunity to select athletes to represent the country in the next SEA Games to be held in Ho Chin Minh City in Vietnam in December and the Asian Bodybuilding Championship in Kazakhstan in September.
He said he took over as the federation’s president from Datuk Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik and would continue to work towards promoting bodybuilding as a sport.
