Harj building a successful pathDate: 17.07.2007 Posted by: Anabolic Info Team United Kingdom
A BUSY businessman is setting his sights on a British title after an impressive start to bodybuilding competitions.
Harj Minhas, 29, has been weight training for about five years and finished second in his first drug-tested natural bodybuilding contest in Liverpool.
As a result, the Worcester man, who owns Premier Broadway Express and Heatwave Tanning and Beauty Salon in St John's, heads to the British Championships in Coventry during October.
Minhas, who trains at Butler's Health and Fitness Centre in Farrier Street, competes in the novice open section under the Natural Physique Association (NPA). He is aiming for a top-six place at least at the national event but hopes to possibly break into the medal positions.
Minhas said: "There will be 15 competitors in my class who will be the best of the best. The show at Liverpool was my first time in a bodybuilding contest and I've had to be very disciplined.
"I couldn't have done it without the help of close friends and my family." All successful competitors at natural contests are tested for drugs to ensure there has been no use of steroids.
