Mumbai, July 9: VICE-President of the International Federation of Bodybuilders (Asia), Datuk Paul Chua today said India being the host country would field two teams at the 57th World Men’s Bodybuilding Championship to be held at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) here from November 5-9. Chua told reporters after inspecting the venue and hotel situated in the heart of the city that the host nation can field two teams of seven bodybuilders each, and said he was more than satisfied with arrangements being made for the mega event.
‘‘The competition at the world meet would be intense, with bodybuilders from USA, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Russia, Spain, Serbia, Korea, Turkey and Iran likely to give tough competition to others,’’ he added.
Vivek Singh of Procam, event promoters, said the five-day event might be graced by former Mr Universes like Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is also a top Hollywood actor, Frank Zane, Sergio Olivia, Dave Draper, Franco Columbu or Lou Ferrigno. ‘‘We are trying to get at least one of them to grace the occasion but nothing has been finalised so far’’, he added.
