BODYBUILDERS are flexing their muscles in readiness for a prestigious competition which is coming to town.
Hartlepool is hosting the NABBA North Britain Body Building competition at the Borough Hall on Sunday, May 6.
The titles of Mr North Britain and Miss North Britain will be up for grabs. It could possibly lead to entry in the Mr Universe contest.
The town's very own strong man, Eddie Ellwood, has organised the contest for the past five years.
And the dad of two thinks everyone could enjoy watching the muscle-flexing fun.
Blackhall man Eddie, 42, runs his own gym, Ellwood's Fitness World, off Brenda Road. He has five professional Mr Universe titles under his belt and was also England's strongest man three times.
In the past Eddie has competed in the show, but now he is happy to run it so others can get the chance to see if they have got what it takes to scoop the title.
He said: "Spectators will see a fantastic show with top competitors.
"There is also a guest star, Lee Priest, who is coming from Australia.
"It is not necessary to be into bodybuilding to come along but for those who aren't it will be a real eye opener."
