Despite falling just short of his goal finishing in the top 10 at the Canadian Bodybuilding Championships in Saskatoon, Cranbrook’s Cerry Lamb was pleased.

“I finished 11th out of 15 in the heavyweight division, which for the first time being there is awesome,” said Lamb. “Most of the competitors there have been there between four to ten times before. Lots of guys I competed with were sponsored and had pro cards. A few came from federations over in Europe.”

After training hard and watching his diet for several months, Lamb was relieved to be able to eat normally again. He is already looking forward to heading back to Nationals next year and improving on his result.

“All in all it went really good; big learning [curve] seeing what these guys go through,” he said. “I’m very excited to go back next year and shoot for top five or six.”

For Lamb, the opportunity to perform in front of his family at the Nationals was great.

“They loved it,” said Lamb. “I haven’t seen my Mom and Dad that excited in a long time. My boys loved it too. It was a really good time to have together and share it.”

Lamb plans to take the next six months off before training for the B.C. Championships and then the Canadian Championships.
