This Saturday at the Teikyo Loretto Heights University Theater, the fittest of the fit will compete for the most prestigious and recognized titles for bodybuilding, fitness and figure athletes in Colorado.
Thursday morning, Centennial resident Pam Smith joined Susie Wargin for the 6:20 Sidebar to talk about her transformation from an out-of-shape mom of four to an incredibly in-shape figure competitor. Pam's before and after pictures tell the 12 week tale (yes 12 weeks) of hard work and good nutrition. In that time, Pam dropped 20 pounds and decided to compete and see where she stands.
Pam decided to get in shape because she just didn't feel good. She even went to the doctor and was given a clean bill of health. Like many moms, Pam realized she was playing a lot of taxi-cab driver to her four children (ages 3-14) and wasn't taking any time for herself. Being a business owner also, she started slow, taking just 10 for herself in the morning, then increased that amount each day. Soon her children were in the weight room and taking walks with her – finding "Pam" time became much easier.
