Next stop nationals!

TWO Walkden body builders have won their way through to the United Kingdom Bodybuilding Fitness Federation National Championships.

The pair, who train at Bodyzone Gym in Farnworth, qualified for the national finals by both winning their categories at the UKBFF Classic event held recently in Birmingham.

Thirty-nine year-old Kevin Alder from Croftside Avenue, and 30-year-old Rosie Sheehan from Sportside Avenue, have put their bodies through a rigorous diet and training regime to reach the peak of physical fitness culminating in both qualifying for the Nottingham event.
Kevin said: "We are both really pleased to win at the prestigious Birmingham event to qualify for the nationals.

"Rosie had done exceptionally well considering it is only her second year of competing.

"It takes constant dedication and hard work to reach the top and we will both be giving it our best shot."

Rosie added: "I will be going to the Nationals to gain experience and enjoy the competition,

"I know it will be tough but I am really excited to be taking part."

The Walkden duo will be hoping for big things in 2007 with more competitions pencilled in.

But before that Kevin will be flying to Athens in November as part of the British team taking part in the World Amateur Body Building Association Championships.

The fitness instructor has set his sights on finishing in the top three in the event and hopefully muscling in as the World number one.
