A Camarillo couple remained in jail Thursday after being arrested on suspicion of possession and selling of steroids and crystal methamphetamine, officers said.
Tyrone John Stansbeary, 38, and his wife, Sara Lane Stansbeary, 37, were arrested Wednesday and booked into Ventura County Jail on $50,000 bail.
Tyrone Stansbeary was in his truck at the time of his arrest, where officers said they also found a large amount of various illegal pharmaceuticals and veterinarian drugs from Mexico.
The two were arrested after investigators from the Ventura County Sheriff's Department and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the High Tech Task Force concluded a narcotic investigation, officials said in a press release.
Investigators served a warrant at the Stansbeary home in the 1500 block of Jose Avenue in Camarillo on Wednesday after officials said they intercepted several suspicious packages being mailed out of a private Camarillo mail center. One package contained about $12,000 in cash and the other held about 120 dosage units of anabolic steroids, officials said.
During the search of the couple's home, investigators reported finding about another 100 vials of the steroid, drug paraphernalia and approximately $20,000 in cash.
A rental unit was also searched where 14 small plastic bottles containing an unknown liquid labeled "LiquArim" were seized along with 150 syringes and a case containing several illegal knives, an expandable baton, brass knuckles and drug packaging materials, authorities said.
